Lives and works in Chicago, IL and resident at the Cornelia Arts Building.

I use painting to explore ideas about narrative, place, landscape, travel, and memory.  I borrow many themes from Romanticism, especially landscape's connection to interior life and imagination. In the past I relied heavily on others stories about location to create my idea, or invented it from a mix of photo reference and photography. Currently I utilize my own photographs and experiences as a point of reference. Because the work is made after my experiences and usually  from notes, sketches, or photos, I rely heavily on my memory or the feeling of a memory of a feeling to create an image.  I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007 with a BFA in painting and drawing and have a studio at the Cornelia Arts Building in Chicago, IL.
